In the last few days I am pleased that I have made progress with my decluttering. I had energy and I used it well. I put adverts on Facebook market place and parted with redundant items, free to collect. Whoosh, they were gone in a flash. This spurred me on and I sold a couple of items on Facebook. It’s good to recycle unwanted items to be of use to someone else.
I have cleared our utility room, which I use all the time and I wanted to enjoy the space more. Now it feels light and airy. I found a cupboard from a pets charity shop that is perfect for footwear.
I delved into all the pony supplements and cleared out all the redundant ones.
It’s amazing how uplifting this process is. There is still much to do, but I feel like I made big progress and there’s dopamine in that for me. It’s kinda strange that this activity all coincides with my recent determination to drink 2 litres of water a day. I have never been able to achieve this before. A very helpful friend made a suggestion, to stop carrying around water as the primary source of hydration. This method had failed for me. Instead he suggested setting up the jug of water and glass in the kitchen. At every opportunity to go and take a glass and drink it down. It sounds so darn obvious, but it is completely working fo me now.
I don’t pretend to know how dopamine works but a quick glance at Wikipedia mentions the brain and kidneys. It would be funny if the simple act of drinking enough water my poor body suddenly has enough to start performing all these missing functions. Well anyway, I’m not an expert but if the unforeseen outcome of drinking enough water means I am now decluttering my home, this is an extra good motivation for me to keep going.
I hope this will inspire you to drink more water and get on with the tasks you’ve been putting off.
